Steer clear of any programs that advise you to lose more than 2 or 3 pounds per week on average. Any more than that is generally not healthy. Also, make sure that the plan provides for enough calories so that you don’t become malnourished. Starving is no way to lose weight safely.
Many programs sell their own brand of food products. You may indeed lose weight with these products. However, the problem is that often times the food offered is not nutritionally sound. A lot of this food is highly processed and may contain sugar and artificial ingredients. To get your weight issues under control for life it is best have a diet of whole, natural foods and to avoid refined sugars to the greatest extent possible.
Often times, hormonal or “metabolic” issues are to blame for the inability to lose weight.
