Frequently Asked Questions:
|
Q. Which insurance networks are you in?
A. We accept United Health Care, Medical Mutual of Ohio, Aetna, Medicare and Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation.
Q. If you do not accept my insurance, will I get any reimbursement from my insurance company?
A. If you have a plan that pays for out-of-network services, you will typically be reimbursed 50% - 80% of what your insurance company allows. As a courtesy we will bill your insurance company for you as an out of network provider. If you have out of network benefits (most PPO and fee-for-service plans do) and you have met your deductible for the year, you should get a substantial reimbursement sent directly to you. Due to time constraints, we are unable to follow up on claims. You can, and should, contact your insurance company to check on the processing of your claim.
Q. Are my blood tests covered by my insurance ?
A. In almost all cases they will be covered to the fullest extent of your benefits just as if your in-network doctor had ordered them. You must go to a lab that is in your insurance company?s network. We will give you a lab requisition form that is good at any lab. We can also recommend a lab that is in your network.
Q. Why are the appointments lengthy?
A. We practice holistic medicine. This style is vastly different than what you have experienced when treating with other doctors. This method involves taking a lot of time to find out the root cause or causes of your problem. Most chronic conditions are very complicated and it takes time to figure out the ?pieces of the puzzle?. We use this style for one reason only- because it works in reversing chronic ailments. When treating chronic conditions, most conventional doctors only cover up symptoms with pharmaceutical drugs. As we all know, drugs can have negative side effects and long term results are typically not good. We are not satisfied with only covering up symptoms.
Q. Why doesn?t my family doctor practice this kind of medicine?
A. There are typically many reasons. One is he or she has not learned of these techniques in medical school or in the course of their work. Another reason is that they cannot, or choose not to spend the time necessary to use this method of treatment. Again, the way insurance is structured these days, in- network doctors are only able to spend a small amount of time per patient. This may change in the future.
Q. Is your style of medicine backed up by science and is it safe?
A. Yes. Every thing we do is science or logic based. The conventional medical system has not yet caught on to many of the methods that we use. Like any big institution, they are slow to change even if better methods are available and valid. This coupled with the insurance issues involved are the main reasons why our methods have not been adopted by the mainstream. Any medicine has its risks. However, our methods generally have much fewer side effects than what people commonly experience with conventional pharmaceutical drug treatment and we closely monitor all of our patients to keep any risks at an absolute minimum.
